The Banker
This is the one of the most interesting definitions of a banker that I have come across.
I had typed a big disclaimer explaining who I am specifically referring to as a banker but then deleted it as it was bigger than this Nano.
In the book “Devil Take The Hindmost”, there is this wonderful quote by Sir Ernest Cassell, banker to Edward VII.
Sir Ernest writes, “When I was young, people called me a gambler. As the scale of my operations increased, I became known as a speculator. Now I am called a banker. But I have been doing the same thing all the time.”
